Karl was born in Detroit, Michigan where he attended Detroit Bible College (now Tyndale) and then went on to graduate from Rhema Bible/Tulsa, Ok. It was from those studies that he found himself curious and passionately driven into a life of self study of the scripture, its related histories and languages. After 20 years of ministry and 20 years of pastoring he and his partner of 30 years (as of 2024) are now retired and reside in their home in the tip of the thumb of Michigan. Regarding “Prophets, Eunuchs and the Pit” he always says, “This book is not a fulfillment of any lifetime dream, nor have I ever desired to be an author. It’s just a fanciful novel that compiles some of the things I have thought about, studied and wrote down regarding these characters and the ancient lands of Jerusalem, Babylon and Egypt which they traveled.

In 6th-century B.C. Jerusalem, Ebed-Melech, an Ethiopian eunuch, is caught between two worlds: the God Adonai, revered by King Josiah, and Atonu, the deity of his Egyptian ancestors. Scorned as an idolater by the prophet Jeremiah, Ebed-Melech and his confidant Asphanez , which he meets in Babylon, find themselves embarking upon a shared destiny. The journey leads them to a pit where they will learn of a child, they will raise who is foretold to change the world in this historical fantasy of clashing faiths and hidden legacies.
